K-12
The development of EQUELLA reinforces the benefits provided to school systems globally – designed by eductors, for educators.
The Learning Edge International was initially established as a result of a relationship that developed with the Department of Education Tasmania in 2001.
At this stage there were no suitable products offering a combined digital repository and content authoring tool. This lead to the development of EQUELLA (formerly The Learning Edge), a joint project between The Learning Edge International and the Department of Education Tasmania – designed by educators, for educators.
Since its development, EQUELLA has been implemented within a variety of leading K-12 bodies due to the:
- Ability to manage and access libraries of resources through consistent metadata aligned to curriculum and pedagogy;
- Simplicity in authoring and in linking elements of curriculum frameworks to lessons;
- Ease with which it allows collaboration amongst educators using a common tool;
- Web-access to resources and plans when working in different locations; and
- Support it provides teachers in their planning for inquiry-based learning through the templates and wizards.
