Content Production and Refreshment
Many organisations use EQUELLA to manage their content production and refreshment. Specifically, EQUELLA can be used to:
- Control content version: In EQUELLA each content item can have multiple, associated versions in different states (draft, live, moderating, etc) enabling content currently in use to be modified and reviewed without impacting on its use.
- Control workflow: EQUELLA allows control over the workflow process and the subsequent content states such as draft, moderating (in workflow), live, archived, review and deleted. This includes assigning ownership to specific states, such as taking content from staff member to staff member as each needs to contribute something to the content such as editorial, review and approval.
- Control access to content by state: EQUELLA enables control over the different states of the content lifecycle. This includes allowing only live content to be searchable and publishable by students and teachers, whilst allowing archived content to be searchable by managers, and new versions of content still in production to be accessible only by the people working on them while maintaining the older, live version available to other groups.
- Control workflow pathways using metadata: Different types of content can be directed through different workflow paths depending on their metadata.
- Access to content from any geographic location: EQUELLA enables access to the content production process for external contractors, whilst still maintaining quality control and oversight by key full time staff.
- Repurpose and re-use content: EQUELLA's powerful search tools enable easy discovery of content relevant to a specific learning area. Once content has been discovered, it can then be re-aggregated and repurposed to create new learning pathways.
- Refresh content: Content can be automatically moved into a review state after a period of time to ensure that it is up-to-date and still meets the relevant teaching and learning needs.
- Streamline content publication: Publication of content can be built into the content production and refreshment workflows, including delivery to printers and to online systems such as Learning Management Systems.
